National Museum of Korea February 'Conversation with Curators'... 'Oegyujanggak Uigwe Exhibition'
[Asia Economy Reporter Seomideum] The National Museum of Korea will operate "Conversations with Curators," where curators personally explain exhibits every Wednesday from 6 to 9 p.m. throughout February. The program covers cultural heritage throughout the permanent exhibition halls, including the special exhibition "The Uigwe of Oegyujanggak, the Meaning of Its Nobility."
In the Prehistoric and Ancient Gallery's Paleolithic Room, the theme "Paleolithic Cultures of the World" explores the global historical significance of the Acheulean hand axes excavated from the Korean Peninsula. In the Goguryeo Room, "Understanding Goguryeo Roof Tiles" offers detailed explanations about excavated Goguryeo roof tile artifacts. The Baekje Room provides insights into Baekje's gold products and architectural characteristics through the themes "Manufacturing Characteristics of Baekje Gold Products" and "Baekje Architectural Decorations."
In the Medieval Gallery's Goryeo Room, "Buddhist Culture of the Goryeo Period" examines the cultural heritage and historical significance left by Goryeo's Buddhist culture. The Joseon Room offers explanations on important concepts and events in Joseon history under the themes "Joseon's Confucianization and Xiaoxue" and "The Imjin War and the Byeongja Horan."
In the Calligraphy and Painting Gallery, Calligraphy and Painting Room I presents a conservation science explanation on the production process and techniques of Joseon Dynasty calligraphy and paintings under the theme "Techniques of Calligraphy and Painting Production." Calligraphy and Painting Room II introduces "A Rare Celebration Once in a Millennium - Musin Jinchan Painting" and "The Folding Screen Commemorating the Crown Prince's Investiture - Yojiyondo."
