COVID-19 New Cases 7,416... Lowest in 6 Months (Update)

The Central Disease Control Headquarters announced that as of midnight on that day, 7,416 new COVID-19 cases were added, bringing the total to 30,157,017.
The number of new confirmed cases decreased by 11,455 from the previous day (18,871) due to a reduction in testing over the weekend. Compared to a week ago on the 23rd (9,217), it decreased by 1,801. This is the lowest number of confirmed cases in 210 days since July 4 last year (6,239). Although a temporary increase was observed due to a surge in testing after the Seollal holiday, the scale of the winter outbreak continues to decline steadily.
Among the new confirmed cases, 22 were imported from overseas.
The number of critically ill patients hospitalized is 402, down 18 from the previous day.
