Individual and Foreign Net Buying... KOSPI Starts Flat
[Asia Economy Reporter Son Sun-hee] The KOSPI started flat, fluctuating around the 2480 level.
As of 9:18 a.m. on the 30th, the KOSPI is trading at 2478.91, down 5.11 points (-0.21%) from the previous day.
At the beginning of the session, the KOSPI opened at 2484.58, up 0.56 points (0.02%). Following Tesla's 11% surge in the U.S. stock market on the 27th (local time) and the strong performance of electric vehicle-related sectors, it was expected to have a positive impact on the domestic market. However, concerns over overall economic contraction have prevented the upward momentum, resulting in repeated fluctuations.
Looking at trading trends by investor type, individuals and foreigners are net buyers with 73.8 billion KRW and 56.8 billion KRW respectively, while institutions are net sellers with 117.6 billion KRW.
By market capitalization, Samsung Electronics is down 0.31% to 64,400 KRW, LG Energy Solution is down 2.47% to 493,500 KRW, and SK Hynix is down 0.77% to 90,800 KRW, with the top three market cap stocks all declining. LG Energy Solution's drop is attributed to the release of a large volume of shares into the market as employee stock ownership association allocation sales become possible from today, marking one year since its listing.
By sector, non-metallic minerals (1.29%), pharmaceuticals (1.05%), and transportation equipment (0.73%) are showing gains. Conversely, securities (-1.51%), insurance (-1.45%), and finance (-0.88%) are declining.
At the same time, the KOSDAQ index is up 2.36 points (0.32%) from the previous session, standing at 743.61. In the KOSDAQ market, individuals are net buyers with 40.3 billion KRW, while foreigners and institutions are net sellers with 22.9 billion KRW and 10.3 billion KRW respectively.
