Mokpo City, Overall Integrity Evaluation Rated 'Grade 3'
Evaluation of Integrity Perception and Effort Over One Year in Two Areas
Promoting Anti-Corruption and Integrity Policies More Substantively
[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Seo Young-seo] Mokpo City received a 'Grade 3' in the '2022 Public Institution Comprehensive Integrity Evaluation' conducted by the Anti-Corruption and Civil Rights Commission.
According to the city on the 27th, this evaluation was conducted under a completely revamped evaluation system that integrated the integrity evaluations and anti-corruption policy evaluations carried out over the past 20 years. It was calculated by reflecting the results of the integrity perception survey and the evaluation of anti-corruption efforts.
The evaluation consisted of the integrity perception from external complainants and city employees regarding contracts, subsidies, finance and taxation, permits, etc., from July 2021 to June 2022, and the anti-corruption and integrity policies independently implemented by the city from October 2021 to November 2022 as part of the integrity effort evaluation.
As a result, Mokpo City received the same Grade 3 as in 2021, with an integrity perception grade of 4 and an integrity effort grade of 3.
To improve integrity last year, Mokpo City implemented various anti-corruption and integrity policies such as forming and operating department-specific integrity policy task forces and integrity officers, conducting integrity notification talks, sending integrity postcards and text messages, having all employees sign integrity pledges, and holding integrity proclamation ceremonies and special training sessions.
These anti-corruption and integrity policies for a 'Corruption Zero & Clean Mokpo' were evaluated as 'Excellent' in the 2022 Jeollanam-do city and county anti-corruption policy evaluation.
Going forward, the city plans to actively implement more innovative and citizen-perceptible comprehensive anti-corruption and integrity measures by addressing shortcomings to improve anti-corruption awareness within the organization, conducting internal employee surveys, and discovering various policies.
