Golden Blue Union Launches General Strike... "First Strike Since Company Founding"
The labor union of Golden Blue, a domestic whiskey manufacturing company, is going on a general strike.
According to the Golden Blue union on the 27th, the union's strike action vote held the previous day was approved with 89% of union members in favor. The union plans to obtain the right to strike and commence a general strike once the Central Labor Relations Commission issues a decision to suspend negotiation mediation. This will be the first strike in the history of Golden Blue since its establishment.
Golden Blue management and the union have held over 20 rounds of negotiations from April last year to early this year regarding the performance bonus payment rate. However, wage negotiations broke down definitively earlier this year, leading to the initiation of strike procedures. The union is demanding a performance bonus payment at the level of 13% of last year's net profit.
