KCC Holds Briefing Session on Designation Review for Identity Verification Agencies
[Asia Economy Reporter Oh Su-yeon] The Korea Communications Commission announced that it will hold an information session for businesses preparing to be designated as identity verification agencies at 2 p.m. on the 3rd in the Diamond Hall on the 2nd floor of the Koreana Hotel.
At this information session, the KCC plans to provide detailed explanations on matters that businesses should be aware of regarding the designation of identity verification agencies, including the 2023 review schedule and procedures, preparation requirements for the review, and key contents of the official notice.
Businesses wishing to be designated as identity verification agencies can attend without prior application, and attendees are required to complete a brief survey at the end of the session.

Kim Jae-cheol, Director of the User Policy Bureau at the KCC, stated, “With the recent activation of fintech and information and communication technology (ICT) services, the demand for online identity verification services is continuously increasing. We will conduct the designation review for identity verification agencies fairly and thoroughly to ensure that safer and more convenient identity verification services are provided to users.”
