Gangnam-gu, Slogan Design for the 8th Elected Term Finalized
‘A City Where Dreams Gather, Gangnam Drawing the Future’ Vision Realized Through Design
[Asia Economy Reporter Park Jong-il] Gangnam-gu (Mayor Jo Seong-myeong) has finalized the design for the 8th term slogan 'A City Where Dreams Gather, Gangnam Drawing the Future.'
The 8th term slogan was selected last October after a public contest, preference survey, and expert review process held last year. To utilize the slogan more effectively, the district completed design work and unveiled the final versions (Type A/B).
The slogan design colors incorporate red and its analogous hues, symbolizing innovation and activity, reflecting Gangnam-gu’s future-oriented vision.
Additionally, two versions were created to allow versatile use across various applications and designs, enabling selective usage.
Type A slogan uses a soft font with connected strokes between letters. A star shape symbolizing ‘dream’ is added, and the upper vowel line is utilized to visually express the meaning of ‘dreams gathering.’
Type B slogan is created with a calligraphy font. To convey a hopeful future, the rounded parts and consonants of the letters are emphasized to enhance dynamism, and a dot is placed above the letter ‘도’ to add a lively touch.
The district plans to actively use the new design on official documents, banners, business cards, and more to widely promote the 8th term vision.
Jo Seong-myeong, Mayor of Gangnam-gu, stated, “The 8th term slogan embodies the aspiration and determination that the dreams of our residents will gather to shape the future of Korea and the world. We will widely promote Gangnam-gu’s vision using the new slogan design and showcase the newly transformed Gangnam-gu.”
