[Asia Economy Reporter Park Jong-il] Eunpyeong-gu (District Mayor Kim Mi-kyung) has published the magazine ‘Eundonggage’ to promote local specialty stores through the ‘Local Creator’ project.
‘Local Creators’ are content creators who promote local stores and small business owners. Last year, the district promoted a training course for ‘Local Creators’ as a measure to revitalize the local commercial district, supporting customized commercial district promotion content such as publishing the commercial district promotion magazine ‘Eundonggage’.
The newly published ‘Eundonggage’ is a 12-page magazine whose name is an abbreviation of ‘Eunpyeong-gu Neighborhood Stores,’ introducing unique stores.
The main contents include ▲introducing unique stores ▲our neighborhood store map ▲stories with regular customers ▲recommended restaurants.
The ‘Our Neighborhood Store Map’ was created to allow a quick overview of store information in three areas: along Bulgwangcheon Stream, Yeokchon-dong Walkable Street, and the old Rodeo Street in Yeonsinnae. The map is decorated with charming illustrations, and on top of the store drawings, there are friendly and vivid descriptions as if told by neighborhood residents.
The ‘Regular Customers’ section contains special stories from customers and store owners. Stories such as ‘A Local Youth and a New Store Owner’ and ‘A Vegan English Company CEO and a Fruit Store Owner’ are introduced by the customers and owners themselves.
In particular, Mr. Oh Ji-sang, a local youth of Eunpyeong-gu, as a ‘Local Creator,’ shares impressive experiences of stores he personally visited while introducing the stores.
The district plans to distribute ‘Eundonggage’ to local stores, the Eunpyeong-gu Chamber of Commerce, the Food Service Association, and other institutions. It can also be downloaded online from the district’s official website and blog.
Meanwhile, the district provided educational programs such as video production methods and SNS utilization guidance to ‘Local Creator’ participants so they could acquire commercial district branding skills. Following support for SNS content promotion and portal site Smart Place registration, this time they published the ‘Eundonggage’ magazine.
