Eight Representative Festivals of Daejeon Including the 'Daejeon 0si Festival' Selected and Supported
[Asia Economy (Daejeon) Reporter Jeong Il-woong] Daejeon City has selected and will support eight representative festivals this year.
On the 20th, the city held the Festival Promotion Committee meeting and announced that it had selected eight festivals as this year's representative local festivals: ▲Daejeon 0si Festival ▲Daejeon Science Festival ▲Soje RED Blues Festival (Dong-gu) ▲Daejeon Hyomunhwa Root Festival (Jung-gu) ▲Daejeon Seo-gu Healing Art Festival (Seo-gu) ▲Yuseong Oncheon Culture Festival (Yuseong-gu) ▲Yuseong Chrysanthemum Festival (Yuseong-gu) ▲Daedeok Festival (Daedeok-gu).
The representative festivals were selected through a process in which the committee reviewed last year's on-site evaluation results and this year's implementation plans for festivals applied by the city hall, five autonomous districts, and affiliated organizations.
The city has allocated a budget of 1.5 billion KRW for festival support this year, providing an equal support of 300 million KRW to each autonomous district.
This measure reflects the previous budget disparities among autonomous districts due to their financial conditions and the limitations in competitiveness caused by insufficient city financial support.
