"Strong Slight Rise Amid Selling and Buying Standoff"
Ahead of the Lunar New Year holiday, the golf membership market experienced an upward trend. This is the result of steady buying inquiries since the beginning of the year. Low-priced listings were traded, causing selling prices to rise and even items with significant price drops to recover their market value.
According to the Donga Membership Exchange on the 21st, the average price of 100 major memberships traded nationwide this week was 221.05 million KRW, up 0.24% from the previous week. By price range, the ultra-high price segment remained unchanged, the high price segment rose by 0.60%, and the mid-price segment increased by 0.04%. The low-price segment saw a significant rise of 0.82%. Donga Membership Exchange stated, "Many golf courses are raising or planning to raise green fees, so the upward trend will be limited," and predicted, "A cautious market battle will continue."
The upward trend is also clear by region. The average price in the central region was 250.28 million KRW, up 0.24% from last week. 88 saw increased buying orders, rising 3.6 million KRW to 231 million KRW compared to the previous week. New Seoul also recorded a 7 million KRW increase to 303 million KRW as buying orders accumulated. Shinwon showed a firm upward trend, rising 40 million KRW to 720 million KRW from last week.
The Yeoju area also showed strength. Geumgang rose 5 million KRW to 145 million KRW amid continued buying orders. Blue Heron increased by 3 million KRW to 163 million KRW due to inflows of individual and corporate buyers, and Jayu rose 20 million KRW to 235 million KRW due to depletion of listings. Low-priced items also showed an upward trend as buying inquiries increased. Park Cheonju, team leader at Donga Membership Exchange, forecasted, "Amid ongoing cautious battles between sellers and buyers, a firm upward trend will continue."
