Busan Office of Education Extends Reduction of Public Property Usage Fee Rate Until Year-End
[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Hwang Du-yeol] The Busan Metropolitan Office of Education is extending the period of reduced usage fees for public property under the jurisdiction of the education office until the end of this year to support small and medium-sized business owners, such as school store and vending machine operators, who are struggling due to COVID-19.
Since February 2020, when COVID-19 first occurred, the education office has been implementing measures to alleviate the economic burden on small and medium-sized business owners facing management difficulties.
This measure is one of the livelihood support efforts to reduce the economic burden on small and medium-sized business owners vulnerable to external environmental changes, as concerns about economic slowdown continue even after the COVID-19 pandemic.
Accordingly, the minimum usage fee rate for public property under the education office’s jurisdiction will be significantly reduced from 5% of the property value to 1%, as it was last year.
If tenants are unable to use the public property during the support period, they can either receive a refund for the unused period or extend the usage period.
The Busan Office of Education plans to inform tenants of the damage support operation guidelines through schools and institutions. Tenants wishing to receive support should submit an application form to the respective school or institution according to the procedure.
