[Asia Economy Reporter Kiho Sung] The Ministry of the Interior and Safety (Minister Sangmin Lee) announced on the 19th that information on nationwide public parking lots open for free from the 20th to the 24th during the Lunar New Year holiday will be provided through 'Gongyunu-ri', the 'Public Data Portal', and private portals.
The nationwide public parking lots open for free during this Lunar New Year holiday period include 15,300 locations such as community centers and schools operated by administrative agencies, public institutions, and education offices.
Information on free public parking lots open during the Lunar New Year will be available not only on ‘Gongyunu-ri’ for the convenience of the public but also on private portals like ‘Naver’ and ‘Daum’. Additionally, the data will be opened to the private sector in file format through the ‘Public Data Portal’ to allow diverse public use.
Citizens wishing to use the free public parking lots can access the ‘Gongyunu-ri’ website or app via computer (PC) or mobile devices and use the ‘Lunar New Year Free Parking Lot Guide’ service. When users select their desired area, free parking lots will be displayed on the map, and users can receive information on opening hours, location details, and even navigation services to the parking lot. On private portals ‘Naver’ and ‘Daum’, users can access the search bar or the ‘Naver Map (app)’ and ‘KakaoMap (app)’ and search for ‘Holiday Free Parking Lots’ to use the service.
