Gwangju Buk-gu, Recruiting Special Support Candidates for At-Risk Youth
[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Kim Yukbong] Buk-gu, Gwangju Metropolitan City, has rolled up its sleeves to support at-risk youth.
Buk-gu is recruiting candidates for the '2023 Youth Special Support Project' until the 7th of next month.
This project aims to help youth facing social and economic difficulties and those in welfare blind spots grow into healthy members of society by providing specialized customized services.
The recruitment targets are youth aged 9 to 24 from households with an income at or below 100% of the median income, including ▲youth who need prevention from delinquency and deviation ▲youth not under the protection of guardians ▲out-of-school youth, among others.
Buk-gu plans to provide money or equivalent goods or services in eight areas: living, health, academics, independence, counseling, legal, activities, and others.
The support period is within one year, with the possibility of one extension within the one-year range if necessary.
Youth or guardians wishing to apply can visit their local community welfare center to submit the application form, health insurance payment confirmation, and other required documents. For more details, inquiries can be made to the Buk-gu Office Child and Youth Division.
Buk-gu plans to select the final candidates through household income investigation and review by the Youth Welfare Deliberation Committee by next month and notify them individually.
Moon In, the mayor of Buk-gu, said, "We urge active applications so that youth in need can receive customized support," adding, "We will continue to prepare various support measures so that youth in blind spots can grow happily and healthily."
Meanwhile, Buk-gu was the only district in Gwangju to receive the Prime Minister's Award in the '2022 Youth Policy Evaluation' hosted by the Ministry of Gender Equality and Family at the end of last year.
