View original image[Asia Economy Reporter Lee Chun-hee] LSK Global Pharma Services, a global Contract Research Organization (CRO), announced that it has obtained the ‘ISO 27001’ certification, an international standard for information security management systems, covering the entire range of clinical trial outsourcing services, becoming the first domestic CRO to achieve this.
ISO 27001 certification is an international standard for information security management systems established by the International Organization for Standardization (ISO) and the International Electrotechnical Commission (IEC). It is regarded as the most prestigious certification in the field of information security, evaluating 144 detailed items across 14 management areas related to information protection, including information protection policies, communication and operations, access control, and information security incident response. The certification can only be obtained after verifying that a company has systematically established and documented processes to protect the confidentiality, integrity, and availability of information assets and continuously operates and manages them.
In particular, the pharmaceutical and bio sectors have seen explosive growth in clinical trial operations utilizing IT systems, making systematic information security management essential to protect key assets related to new drug development and ensure the safe development of pharmaceuticals. LSK Global Pharma Services was recognized for the appropriateness and efficiency of its operation and management in each detailed item of ISO 27001, becoming the first domestic CRO to receive the ISO 27001 certification.
