Gwangyang Police Station Holds Love Sharing and Consolation Event for Seol Holiday
YWCA Free Meal Service Shares Warmth with Seniors
[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters, Reporter Heo Seon-sik] Jeonnam Gwangyang Police Station (Chief Jeong Jae-bong) visited the Gwangyang YWCA free meal service center ahead of the Lunar New Year holiday to deliver fruits, soy milk, and other foods favored by the elderly, helping neighbors in need have a happy holiday, becoming a heartwarming story in the local community.
This sharing and consolation event was carried out through donations collected by all the staff of the Gwangyang Police Station, hoping that warmth would be shared via the YWCA free meal service center, which plays an important role for elderly people in social need.
Gwangyang Police Station visited the Gwangyang YWCA free meal service ahead of the Lunar New Year holiday and delivered foods that the elderly like, such as fruit and soy milk.

Chief Jeong Jae-bong said, “I hope this small sharing through the consolation event can provide some comfort to neighbors in need. Gwangyang Police will not only focus on crime prevention activities but also practice sharing with neighbors in difficulty to become a warm police force that contributes to the local community.”
In December, the Gwangyang Police Station also took the lead in protecting socially vulnerable groups by delivering kimchi, made together with the Police Development Council, to crime victims.
