Gwangju Nam-gu "Selecting the Best Works in the Media Art Field"
[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Park Jin-hyung] Nam-gu, Gwangju Metropolitan City, is holding a contest to select high-quality works in the field of media art to provide various cultural contents through the Baegun Square Media Wall.
According to Nam-gu on the 17th, the Baegun Square Media Wall Media Art Contest will be held from this month until April.
The prize money for the contest winners totals 22 million KRW, including 10 million KRW for the grand prize, 7 million KRW for the excellence award, and 5 million KRW for the encouragement award.
Eligibility to apply includes citizens currently registered as residents in Gwangju who are active professional media art artists, experts, or majors in related fields, and teams can also participate as groups.
The contest theme covers all fields that can symbolize and promote Nam-gu, and submitted works must meet four criteria including file format, supported codec (H.264), resolution (6,048×1,296), and video length (within 1 minute 30 seconds).
Submission of works will take place over one week from April 5 to April 11.
The judging criteria comprehensively consider artistic quality, creativity, technicality, and thematic relevance, and the winners will be announced on April 25.

Meanwhile, Nam-gu has installed a giant LED display in front of the main gate of the Nam-gu General Office building for the Baegun Square Media Wall project, and from February, various contents including Baegun Horangi will be showcased.
