In US-Japan Joint Statement... China Fiercely Criticizes It as "Domestic Oppression Farce"
[Asia Economy Reporter Jo Yujin] In response to the US and Japanese leaders criticizing China's actions that violate the international order, Chinese authorities fiercely condemned it as a 'farce of oppressing their own country.'
On the 16th, Wang Wenbin, spokesperson for the Chinese Ministry of Foreign Affairs, criticized the joint statement released after the US-Japan summit at a regular briefing, saying, "Japan and the United States conspired to tarnish China's image, interfere in China's internal affairs, and stage a farce of suppressing China's development."
Spokesperson Wang said, "This is very hypocritical and also very dangerous," adding, "China firmly opposes this and has lodged stern representations with the relevant countries." 'Lodging stern representations' refers to protests made through diplomatic channels.
