[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Lee Seryeong] At around 6:44 a.m. on the 16th, two fishing vessels collided near the waters off Bito-ri, Seopo-myeon, Sacheon-si, Gyeongnam.
According to the Sacheon Coast Guard, the 9.77-ton vessel A was lowering its anchor after finishing work at an aquaculture farm at the accident site, when the 4.98-ton vessel B, which had departed at 5:48 a.m. that day to go fishing, failed to notice vessel A and collided with it.
The Sacheon Coast Guard immediately dispatched patrol boats, the Coast Guard rescue team, and coastal rescue boats upon receiving the report, and measured the alcohol levels of both vessel captains, confirming no abnormalities.
As a result of the accident, the right bow and work platform rail of vessel A were damaged, but there were no casualties, flooding, or sinking.
