Rice Cake Soup Delivered to 30 Low-Income Elderly Living Alone Households
[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Kim Wook] The volunteer groups of four areas?Naeildong, Bubuk, Sanoe, and Sangdong-myeon in Miryang-si, Gyeongnam?carried out a volunteer activity on the 13th, delivering rice cake soup to 30 low-income elderly living alone and other vulnerable households in the district.
Kim Suk-ja, head of the Naeildong Arang Volunteer Group, said, “We hope that the members enjoy the rice cake soup filled with love and sincerity to welcome the New Year, and that they spend the Year of the Rabbit in good health and happiness.”
The Bubuk-myeon Volunteer Group shared rice cake soup rice cakes made from 100 kg of rice collected by members to 50 households, including elderly living alone, severely disabled people, and single-parent families, so that these neighbors in need could have a warm Lunar New Year holiday.
Gyeongnam Miryang-si Naeil Dongari, Sangdong-myeon Bubuk-myeon, and Sanwoe-myeon Volunteer Associations are conducting rice cake soup rice sharing volunteer activities to celebrate the Lunar New Year holiday.

The head of Bubuk-myeon said, “To celebrate the upcoming Lunar New Year, we shared warm affection by delivering delicious rice cake soup rice cakes together with the members, ensuring that the neighbors in need around us are not left out.”
The Bubuk-myeon Volunteer Group is dedicated to improving local welfare through activities such as side dish service for vulnerable groups, free meal service, mobile laundry support, and discovering welfare blind spots.
The Sanoe-myeon Volunteer Group also attracted attention from local residents by visiting 30 vulnerable households facing difficulties ahead of the Lunar New Year holiday, checking on their well-being and delivering rice cake soup together with the administrative welfare center staff.
Hwang Won-cheol, head of Sanoe-myeon, said, “As the Lunar New Year approaches, the volunteer group and local residents always pay attention so that elderly living alone do not feel isolated. The public and private sectors will cooperate to continue sharing warmth in the future.”
The Sangdong-myeon Volunteer Group held a ‘Lunar New Year Rice Cake Soup Rice Cake Sharing’ event, confirming the well-being of 30 households including disabled and other marginalized neighbors, and delivering 30 boxes of 2 kg rice cake soup rice cakes they personally packaged, along with eggs, bean sprouts, and seasoned seaweed.
