Samsung 'Monimo', First Bond Trading Service Opened on Financial Integration App
Easy Bond Purchase Available in 'Product-Investment' Menu or 'Securities' Tab
[Asia Economy Reporter Lee Seon-ae] Samsung Securities announced on the 10th that it has opened a bond trading service for the first time among integrated insurance, securities, and card apps within 'Monimo,' the integrated app of Samsung Financial Networks, and is selling a special bond with a pre-tax annual interest rate of 5.30% up to a limit of 10 billion KRW.
The special bond being sold this time is a senior bond of Hyundai Capital with an AA rating, offering a pre-tax annual interest rate of 5.30%, with a maturity of 3 years and monthly interest payments (interest rate as of the 10th, conditions may change depending on future market conditions). As of the 10th, an investment of 100 million KRW can receive approximately 480,000 KRW in interest (pre-tax) monthly, and holding until maturity can yield a total profit of 15.85 million KRW (pre-tax). The Monimo special bond sales may end early once the limit is exhausted.
This special bond sale commemorates the opening of the first bond trading service within a domestic integrated financial app. Detailed information can be found in the 'Products' menu under the 'Investment' or 'Samsung Securities' tab within the Samsung Financial Networks app 'Monimo.' The bond trading service within Monimo automatically connects to the Samsung Securities page, and a Samsung Securities account is required for bond investment. Customers without a Samsung Securities account can open an account non-face-to-face within Monimo.
In addition to the special Hyundai Capital bonds, investments in government bonds and high-quality bonds rated A or above are possible through Monimo, with a minimum investment starting from 1,000 KRW.
Furthermore, until the 31st, two reward events are being held for customers trading bonds on Monimo. First, customers who trade online domestic over-the-counter bonds for the first time at Samsung Securities and purchase more than 100,000 KRW will receive 5,000 KRW. Second, customers who maintain a balance equal to or greater than their cumulative net bond purchase amount of 50 million KRW, 100 million KRW, or 500 million KRW during the event period will receive cash rewards based on their purchase amounts.
Samsung Securities has added this feature to Monimo to allow customers to conveniently invest in bonds in response to the increased demand for bond investments amid the high-interest-rate trend. Last year, Samsung Securities' online bond sales to individual investors exceeded 2 trillion KRW, actively promoting bond trading through online platforms.
Kim Sang-hoon, Executive Director of Digital Marketing at Samsung Securities, said, "Investors paying attention to bond investments are increasing significantly in line with the high-interest-rate era," adding, "We will continue to strive to provide easier and more convenient asset management methods, including bonds."
