Seoul City Provides Specialized Training to 300 Seoul Farmers During Off-Season
Lecture on Know-How for Producing Healthy Agricultural Products
[Asia Economy Reporter Kiho Sung] The Seoul Metropolitan Government announced on the 10th that it will conduct the 'New Year Practical Education for Farmers' from the 11th to the 30th, targeting 300 Seoul farmers during the winter off-season to teach the skills and know-how necessary for producing high-quality agricultural products.
The Seoul Agricultural Technology Center will offer courses in four fields?vegetables, floriculture, fruit trees, and rice?over six sessions at the Agricultural Technology Center and local agricultural cooperatives, targeting professional farmers.
The curriculum includes an introduction to agricultural policies reflecting changes in the agricultural environment and national agenda tasks, education on the stable establishment of the Positive List System (PLS) for pesticide residues, and practical technology training for producing high-quality agricultural products by item.

Meanwhile, Seoul plans to conduct a total of 36 sessions educating 1,070 farmers at the Agricultural Technology Center this year. Various courses, including rural lifestyle education open to the general public, will be launched starting next month.

Jangtae Jo, Director of the Seoul Agricultural Technology Center, said, “Through this year’s first education program for farmers, we will support Seoul farmers to produce healthy and safe agricultural products and develop problem-solving skills for various situations that may arise in the agricultural field, enabling them to acquire professionalism and capabilities.”
