China: Truck Crashes into Funeral Procession, Killing 19 and Injuring 20
In Jiangxi Province, southern China, a traffic accident resulted in 39 casualties.
According to the Nanchang County Public Security Bureau in Jiangxi Province on the 8th, a major traffic accident occurred around 12:49 AM on a road in Nanchang County, killing 19 people and injuring 20 others. The injured were transported to hospitals for treatment. Authorities stated that they are investigating the exact cause of the accident.
Local media reported that while residents were holding a memorial rite, a cargo truck crashed into the funeral procession. It was explained that about 60 to 70 residents had completed the memorial rite and were preparing to move to the crematorium when the cargo truck suddenly charged toward the residents.
