Wemade Sells 'Mir's Legend 2' NFT Products in China
[Asia Economy Reporter Yuri Choi] Wemade announced on the 4th that it will collaborate with Zhongzhen Yezhong Cultural Development on non-fungible token (NFT) products for "Mir's Legend 2."
Wemade's flagship intellectual property (IP), "Mir's Legend 2," is a game that made a sensation when it entered China in 2001. In 2005, it set a Guinness World Record as the first in the world to reach 800,000 simultaneous users in China.
The two companies plan to create NFT products using the "Mir's Legend 2" IP and sell them on the Xinwenchang NFT platform operated by Zhongzhen Yezhong Cultural Development. They will also cooperate to expand sales channels to various platforms in the future.
The Xinwenchang NFT platform is a digital asset exchange operated by Zhongzhen Yezhong Cultural Development. It has been in service since June last year. Zhongzhen Yezhong Cultural Development is a subsidiary of China Cultural Media Group, which is directly under the Chinese Ministry of Culture and Tourism. China Cultural Media Group has designated the metaverse as a core future project and is promoting a digital collectibles business centered on the Xinwenchang platform.
