Imsil-gun Accelerates Promotion of 'Hometown Love Donation System' Implementation
[Imsil=Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters, Reporter Park Nosik] Imsil-gun, Jeonbuk, is stepping up its promotion efforts along with the full-scale implementation of the Hometown Love Donation System to welcome the new year.
The county announced on the 3rd that with the opening of the Hometown Love e-um system on January 1, 2023, it is strengthening SNS promotion through the county office’s Facebook, Instagram, and Kakao Channel.
Imsil-gun Office’s SNS platforms?Facebook, Instagram, and Kakao Channel?have about 20,000 friends and followers, serving as highly effective promotional tools with a weekly maximum reach of up to 100,000, demonstrating rapid dissemination power.
The Hometown Love Donation System, which began with the enactment of the Hometown Love Donation Act in 2021, went through full-scale preparation after the enactment of the enforcement ordinance of the same law in September 2022, and was launched this year.
Meanwhile, the county made significant efforts to implement the system, starting with the enactment of the ordinance on the collection and operation of Imsil-gun Hometown Love Donations in November last year, conducting surveys to understand preferences for return gifts, and holding two return gift selection committee meetings to select return gifts and suppliers.
As a result, 19 return gift items were selected, and suppliers for nine items including cheese, yogurt, red pepper powder, and rice were chosen and registered in the Hometown Love e-um system.
The Hometown Love Donation System allows individuals to donate up to 5 million KRW annually to local governments (basic or metropolitan) other than their place of residence.
Donors receive a full tax credit for donations up to 100,000 KRW, and a 16.5% tax credit on the amount exceeding 100,000 KRW, along with return gifts such as local agricultural specialties within 30% of the donation amount.
Donations can be made through Hometown Love e-um or any nationwide NongHyup branch.
The funds accumulated through the Hometown Love Donations will be used for projects aimed at the development of Imsil-gun, with the utilization of donations decided through a committee meeting for the operation of the Hometown Love Fund.
County Governor Shim Min said, “We expect the Hometown Love Donation System to serve as a catalyst for the development of Imsil,” adding, “We will do our best to discover return gifts that satisfy donors and to develop fund projects for the residents of Imsil.”
