On the 2nd, Air Busan held a kick-off ceremony at its headquarters located in Gangseo-gu, Busan, and began its first business of 2023.
At this event, Air Busan pledged to achieve its highest-ever sales this year with four key focus goals along with the 2023 management policy: ▲Safety ▲Incorporation of profit and cost concepts ▲Maximization of operating profit ▲Communication.
Last year, in line with the recovery trend in travel, Air Busan boosted its fourth-quarter performance through aggressive route expansion and operation of charter flights.
In the fourth quarter of last year, Air Busan operated a total of 2,339 international flights, carrying approximately 390,000 passengers, which represents an increase of over 90% in flights and over 130% in passengers compared to the previous third quarter.
Compared to the fourth quarter of 2021, the number of flights increased by about 3,000%, and the number of passengers increased by more than 5,300%, showing a significant rise in both flights and passengers.
Notably, the passenger growth rate exceeded the flight growth rate, indicating that demand surpassed supply numerically.
An Air Busan official stated, “Considering that the aviation market is entering a full-fledged post-COVID era this year, this trend of increasing passengers is expected to continue.”
