Professional golfer Park Sung-hyun (29)'s fan cafe 'Namdalla' announced on the 29th that it had donated a total of 48.2 million KRW to the Seoul Community Chest of Korea as a neighbor-helping fund by saving 1,000 KRW for each birdie Park Sung-hyun recorded.
The donation was raised voluntarily by members of the 'Namdalla' fan cafe who showed their support every time Park Sung-hyun made a birdie or eagle in tournaments. They collected 43.2 million KRW from the Naver fan cafe and 5 million KRW from the Daum fan cafe.
At the donation ceremony, Park Sung-hyun said, "Since this donation was continuously and voluntarily collected by many fan cafe members, I hope it will be delivered as warm sharing to children in need." She added, "In 2023, I will work even harder with the support and encouragement of the members."
The donation will be used for local welfare projects in Seoul and Incheon. On the 28th, welfare organizations carrying out projects gathered at the Seo-gu Senior Welfare Center of the Incheon Seo-gu Facilities Management Corporation for the 'Local Community Welfare Project Fund Delivery Ceremony.' Fan cafe members nationwide who could not attend in person participated in the ceremony through the online 'Metaverse (Extended Virtual World) Gather Town,' which was prepared for the first time by Seoul Community Chest of Korea.
Jung Mi-sook, the representative of the Naver fan cafe, said, "I hope the sincerity that members have gathered every time Park Sung-hyun performs well will be used valuably to improve the welfare of neighbors in need in the community."
Park Sung-hyun, a member of the Seoul Community Chest of Korea's Honor Society, and the fan cafe 'Namdalla,' part of the Sharing Leaders Club, have taken the lead in promoting positive influence through steady sharing activities every year. Over the past six years, the cumulative amount donated by the fan cafe 'Namdalla' has reached about 280 million KRW.
