[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Yoon Jamin] The first-year performance monitoring and mentoring event for the Chosun University Industry-Academia-Research Platform Cooperative Technology Development Project was successfully completed.
Chosun University was selected in April as the operating institution for the 2022 Industry-Academia-Research Platform Cooperative Technology Development Project (New Industry Sector: Bio-Health) organized by the Ministry of SMEs and Startups.
This event was organized to review and manage the progress of the first-year project and to promote efficient project implementation and achievement of results.
About 70 participants attended, including Choi Hancheol, Director of the Industry-Academia Cooperation Group; Kwon Minki, Deputy Director of Industry-Academia Cooperation; Lee Junsik, Director of Research Department; Joo Seongmin, Deputy Director of the SME Industry-Academia Cooperation Center; Lee Sangsoo, Director of KTR Healthcare Advanced Chemical Research Institute; domestic bio-health expert mentors; principal investigators of 20 project tasks; and corporate representatives from joint performing institutions.
The event included guidance on domestic and international medical device approval procedures, introduction of related laws, KTR’s prototypes, overseas certifications, and corporate support projects. Expert mentoring was provided for early commercialization of each project, covering technologies such as COVID-19 thermostatic and antibody simultaneous diagnostic immuno-rapid test kits, customized maxillofacial medical devices and surgical guides, synthetic bone graft materials, and development of a non-face-to-face digital dental cloud platform, including technology, market, non-clinical/clinical, certification/approval aspects.
Challenges in project implementation were identified, and the progress of each project’s first-year activities was reviewed, confirming that excellent research results are being produced.
Additionally, classifications and detailed cases of suspected misuse of SME R&D funds were explained, along with an introduction to promising bio-health-related technology patents held by Chosun University.
