View original image[Asia Economy Reporter Chunhee Lee] The Korea Regulatory Science Center Foundation announced on the 29th that it held an extraordinary board meeting and elected Park Insuk as the new center director, succeeding Park Jungtae.
New Center Director Park Insuk has served in public office at the Ministry of Food and Drug Safety for 32 years, handling medical product approval-related tasks. During the recent COVID-19 pandemic, she worked as the head of the Biologics and Pharmaceuticals Review Division at the Ministry, striving to overcome the pandemic by stabilizing mask supply, establishing proactive approval review strategies for vaccines and therapeutics, and directing national lot release approvals. In particular, she contributed to the approval of the first domestically developed vaccine and therapeutic by providing proactive and forward-looking support to domestic developers.
Director Park expressed her determination to lead the development of regulatory science in Korea by leveraging her diverse experience, expertise, and integrative thinking gained from approving and reviewing medical products at the Ministry. She aims to firmly establish the center's role as a regulatory science hub by excellently serving as a bridge between universities training regulatory science talent, the Ministry of Food and Drug Safety, industry, and related domestic and international organizations.
