Samsung Bespoke and LG Signature New Products Debut at CES (Comprehensive)
New Home Appliances to Make an Appearance at CES2023
[Asia Economy Reporter Park Sun-mi] Samsung Electronics and LG Electronics will unveil trend-leading new home appliances at CES 2023, the world's largest home appliance and IT exhibition, held in Las Vegas, USA, for four days starting from the 5th of next month (local time).
Samsung Electronics will introduce the new ‘Bespoke Refrigerator Family Hub Plus’ equipped with a large touchscreen. By integrating artificial intelligence (AI) and Internet of Things (IoT) technologies into the refrigerator, it provides services related to entertainment, family communication, cooking, and smart home. The refrigerator features a 32-inch Full HD touchscreen, about twice as large as the existing 21.5-inch screen, enhancing customer immersion.
The ‘Samsung TV Plus’ service, which offers free viewing of over 190 TV channels in the US and about 80 channels in Korea, has been upgraded to be enjoyed in ‘PIP (Picture-in-Picture) mode.’ Users can search for recipes while watching music channels and control home appliances while watching the news. Content such as SmartThings Cooking service videos and ‘Bespoke Atelier’ app artworks can also be vividly enjoyed on the 32-inch screen.
The new product can be linked not only with the existing ‘OneDrive’ but also with ‘Google Photos.’ Simply put, it means you can view photos stored on Google Photos while standing in front of the refrigerator. Lee Jun-hwa, Vice President of Samsung Electronics’ Home Appliance Business Division, said, "The newly introduced ‘Bespoke Refrigerator Family Hub’ by Samsung Electronics offers an expanded experience with a larger screen," adding, "Family Hub will lead innovation and evolution of refrigerators by reflecting changing consumer usage patterns."
LG Electronics has prepared the LG Signature Zone under the theme ‘Experience Life Beyond Appliances’ and will showcase five types of the second-generation LG Signature products for the first time. This marks LG Electronics’ unveiling of the new lineup of the ultra-premium ‘LG Signature’ home appliances after seven years. The second-generation LG Signature lineup inherits and advances the philosophy of the first generation, which achieved overwhelming performance through technological innovation, refined design faithful to the essence, and intuitive usability never experienced before.
To make it more convenient for customers to use home appliances, differentiated innovative technologies have been added to the products, and the core design elements of color, material, and finish have been carefully refined to complete a luxurious minimalist design.
Visitors to the exhibition can experience innovative second-generation LG Signature products such as the ‘Dual InstaView Refrigerator,’ which applies InstaView on both doors for the first time, allowing users to see inside the refrigerator without opening the door; the ‘Washing Machine’ and ‘Dryer,’ which have become more convenient with a 7-inch touch LCD; the ‘Hood-Combined Microwave Oven’ with Smart InstaView that allows real-time monitoring of cooking status and energy usage; and the ‘Double Slide-In Oven,’ which recognizes food through internal cameras and automatically adjusts cooking temperature and time settings until the dish is completed.
