Lee Gwang-yong Appointed as Chairman of Gwangyang City Children's Care Foundation
We Will Actively Strive for the Second Leap of the Childcare Foundation
[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters, Reporter Heo Seon-sik] Gwangyang City, Jeollanam-do announced on the 28th that Lee Kwang-yong, CEO of Unitec Co., Ltd., has been appointed as the next chairman of the Gwangyang City Children's Care Foundation.
The Gwangyang City Children's Care Foundation elected the next chairman one year after Hwang Jae-woo, the founding chairman who led the foundation for more than four years, expressed his intention to resign from the chairman position at the foundation's board meeting held in December last year.
With the appointment of the new chairman, the foundation is expected to gain more momentum not only in next year's projects but also in administrative tasks and securing regular members, which have been decreasing.
Next chairman Lee Kwang-yong expressed his thoughts, saying, "It is a personal honor to serve as the chairman of the first children's care foundation established nationwide, but I feel a heavy responsibility and pressure to meet the diverse childcare demands of the local community."
He added, "I will actively strive for the second leap of the foundation by inheriting the contributions and philosophy of founding chairman Hwang Jae-woo, presenting new perspectives on child-rearing, and playing a role in branding the city."
The inauguration ceremony for next chairman Lee Kwang-yong is scheduled to be held by February next year. Lee currently serves as CEO of Unitec, chairman of the Gwangyang Steelworks Partner Association, and director of the Children's Care Foundation.
