The Integrity Citizen Auditor system is a program in which citizens or experts appointed by public institutions participate in identifying and improving corruption-prone areas. When necessary, they can request revisions to internal regulations, demand internal audits, and even directly participate in audits.
Korea National Oil Corporation introduced the Integrity Citizen Auditor system in 2011 and currently operates it with three experts appointed by field.
At the meeting held that day, the corporation shared with the Integrity Citizen Auditors the achievements in institutional improvements and efforts to spread a culture of integrity in major areas in 2022.
The Integrity Citizen Auditors positively evaluated the implementation of rank-specific meetings requested during the first meeting and the systems implemented to enhance transparency in personnel affairs.
However, they urged continuous collection of opinions during the promotion of integrity and anti-corruption efforts, noting that the public's demand for integrity in the public sector is steadily increasing and that there are various voices for improving the integrity of internal members. They also emphasized the need to strengthen efforts to identify and improve corruption-prone areas.
