On the 27th, students from Dongmyung University’s Creativity and Character Research Institute and the Early Childhood Education Department club conducted a program titled ‘Making Calendars Using Advertisement Posters’ for the beginner Hangul class elderly members of the Busan Literacy Education Association in Suyeong-gu.
Most of the beginner Hangul class students at the Busan Literacy Education Association are over their 60s and are studying Hangul, forgetting their age. In this calendar-making activity, the beginner class students drew pictures on blank canvases according to their own ideas and decorated them.
Participants in this educational talent donation included Good Teacher president student Kim Ji-yeon and students Jo Eun-ha, Lee Jeong-ho, Kim Yeon-ju, Nam Go-eun, and Park Hye-min.
Hwang Dong-yeon, director of the Busan Literacy Education Association, said, “This educational volunteer service, which enabled creative experiences, received great responses from the elderly,” and added, “We hope to continue cooperation and exchange with Dongmyung University’s Creativity and Character Research Institute through this opportunity.”
