Gwangju Shinsegae 'ESG Project' Delivers Eco-Friendly Products to Island
[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Shin Dong-ho] Gwangju Shinsegae announced on the 28th that it visited Sodurado, Nam-myeon, Yeosu City, to celebrate achieving the goal of the 'Korean Islands Gwangju Shinsegae Stamp Challenge' and delivered a set of 10 fair trade and eco-friendly products.
The challenge was an event where participants walked on target islands, and when the total steps accumulated, food supplies were delivered to islands in the Yeosu area with fewer than 20 residents. The event was held from the 4th of last month to the 3rd of this month.
The target number of steps was 10 million, and nine islands in the Yeosu area with fewer than 20 residents were selected upon achieving the goal.
The selected islands were Geumjukdo, Yado, Sohwangan-do, Chudo, Daebudo, Daewundo, Sodurado, Gwangdo, and Sogeomundo. Among them, Sodurado was visited as the representative island to deliver food supplies.
This event was conducted following the business agreement signed in September between Gwangju Shinsegae and the Korea Island Promotion Agency to revitalize tourism in island areas.
