[Asia Economy Reporter Gong Byung-sun] The prosecution has conducted a third raid on the Korea Communications Commission (KCC), which is suspected of deliberately lowering scores during the TV Chosun comprehensive programming channel's reauthorization review process.
On the 28th, the Seoul Northern District Prosecutors' Office announced that it is carrying out an additional raid on the KCC and others in connection with allegations of manipulation in the comprehensive programming channel reauthorization. The Criminal Division 5 of the Seoul Northern District Prosecutors' Office (Chief Prosecutor Park Kyung-seop) dispatched investigators to the KCC's computer room within the Government Complex Gwacheon to secure materials related to the allegations.
Earlier, the Board of Audit and Inspection secured statements indicating that some reviewers deliberately gave low scores to TV Chosun during the 2020 comprehensive programming channel reauthorization review process and forwarded related materials to the Supreme Prosecutors' Office. The Supreme Prosecutors' Office subsequently transferred the case to the Seoul Northern District Prosecutors' Office.
