Gwangju Seo-gu Physical Fitness Certification Center Selected as 'Best Center' in Operation Evaluation

[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Shin Dong-ho] Seo-gu, Gwangju Metropolitan City (Mayor Kim I-gang) announced on the 27th that it was recently selected as the 'Best Institution' in the 2022 National Fitness 100 Project Evaluation.

This evaluation, hosted by the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism and organized by the Korea Sports Promotion Foundation, was conducted to systematically and efficiently manage the performance of the National Fitness 100 project and to equalize service quality and strengthen capabilities across fitness certification centers.

Seventy-one fitness certification centers nationwide were surveyed focusing on 14 indicators in four main areas: regional resource infrastructure, operational activities, performance, and follow-up management.

The Gwangju Seo-gu Fitness Certification Center conducts scientific fitness measurements and exercise evaluations by dividing fitness measurement subjects into life stages: infancy, childhood, adolescence, adulthood, and old age, considering the physical characteristics of each age group.

Seo-gu collaborated with 36 public-private partnership institutions and local resource organizations to carry out fitness measurements and exercise evaluations (4,898 people), operate strength enhancement exercise fitness improvement classes (11 sessions, 641 people), and conduct health measurement and counseling specialized projects (1,354 people), receiving high praise and winning the top award.

A Seo-gu official stated, “We will continue to collaborate with the public and private sectors to enhance the fitness and health of local residents and become a continuously developing Seo-gu Fitness Certification Center.”
