The 2023 academic year regular admission for junior colleges will accept applications from the 29th of this month until January 12th of next year, selecting 17,100 new students. This number is a decrease of 4,445 (20.6%) compared to the 2022 academic year (21,545 students). However, if there are unfilled spots after the final supplementary admissions of the early admission process, the final number for regular admissions may increase slightly.
During the selection period, interview and practical test schedules are autonomously set by each college, and applicants may apply to multiple colleges without any limit on the number of applications. However, if an applicant has been accepted through early admission, regardless of enrollment status, they are prohibited from applying in this regular admission.
Looking at the selection types, 7,655 students will be admitted through the general selection, 871 through special selection (within quota), and 8,574 through special selection (outside quota). The breakdown by selection method is as follows: 5,741 students through document-based selection, 4,907 through CSAT-based selection, 2,609 through student record-based selection, 2,249 through practical skills-based selection, and 1,594 through interview-based selection.
By major field, 4,040 students will be admitted in nursing and health fields, 2,523 in mechanical and electrical fields, 2,115 in theater, film, broadcasting, and applied arts fields, 1,892 in hotel and tourism fields, and 1,323 in design and beauty fields, in that order. When choosing a major at a college, applicants must check detailed information carefully, as the duration of study may differ between colleges even if the major name is the same, ranging from 2 to 3 years.
