Yeosu-si Holds '2022 Festival Evaluation Meeting' to Explore Development Directions
Held a briefing session at the city hall meeting room on the 23rd to discuss improvements for next year
[Yeosu=Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Choi Cheol-hoon] Jeollanam-do Yeosu City (Mayor Jeong Gi-myeong) announced that it held the ‘2022 Festival Evaluation Report Meeting’ on the 23rd at the city hall conference room.
Presided over by Na Byeong-gon, Director of Tourism, Culture and Education Bureau of Yeosu City, the evaluation report meeting was attended by the chairpersons and members of the Yeosu Geobukseon Festival, Yeosu Night Sea Fireworks Festival, and Yeosu Dongdongbuk Festival promotion committees, as well as officials from the Yeosu Community Research Institute, which conducted the festival evaluations.
The attendees received the evaluation results of this year’s festivals and discussed various complaints, suggestions, and issues, while jointly seeking directions for the development of next year’s festivals.
In particular, they focused on safety accident prevention measures and traffic issues caused by crowding during large-scale festivals, continuing discussions on possible improvements.
They also agreed to develop diverse content aimed at minimizing citizen inconveniences while ensuring safe festivals that maintain traditional values, thereby enhancing visitor satisfaction.
Na Byeong-gon, Director of Tourism, Culture and Education Bureau, said, “I believe festivals played a major role in our city recovering 12 million tourists after three years. We will reflect the various opinions raised at this evaluation report meeting to make next year’s festivals safer and more abundant.”
