BNK Financial Group's Next CEO Candidates: 4 Internal, 2 External
Zero Former Financial Bureaucrats... More Than Half from BNK Affiliates
[Asia Economy Reporter Minwoo Lee] It has been identified that four out of six candidates shortlisted as the next CEO of BNK Financial Group are internal candidates.
According to the financial sector on the 26th, the six CEO candidates shortlisted by BNK Financial Group on the 22nd reportedly include Angamchan, President of Busan Bank; Lee Doo-ho, CEO of BNK Capital; Bin Dae-in, former President of Busan Bank; and Son Gyo-deok, former President of Gyeongnam Bank. This means that 66% of the candidates come from BNK Financial Group affiliates.
The remaining two candidates are Kim Yun-mo, Vice Chairman of Notic Investment, and Wi Sung-ho, former President of Shinhan Bank, who are considered outsiders to the group. Contrary to expectations, financial bureaucrats mentioned in the financial sector did not make it to the first round of candidates.

The BNK Financial Group Executive Recommendation Committee (ERC) plans to select a second round of candidates (shortlist) by reflecting the results of management plan presentations (PT), interview evaluations, and external reputation checks for the first round of CEO candidates. Considering the time required for reputation checks by external advisory institutions, the next ERC meeting is expected to be held around January 12 next year. Afterward, a final candidate will be selected through in-depth interviews and recommended to the board of directors.
