The Art Healing Kit consists of art content that abused children can engage in at home together with their guardians. It was created to promote the emotional stability of children through art activities, enhance understanding among family members, and strengthen family functions. The 'Art Healing Kits,' personally packaged by the staff of the Arts Council, will be delivered to 61 families of abused children through child protection agencies in the southern, central, and northern regions of Jeonnam.
Junyul Bae, head of Good Neighbors Gwangju Jeonnam Regional Headquarters, said, "More than 8 out of 10 cases judged as child abuse involve parents as the perpetrators, and most of the abused children continue to be protected in their original families after the abuse." He added, "We hope that through the Art Healing Kits, family functions will be strengthened to prevent re-abuse within the home."
Jongkwan Park, chairman of the Korea Arts & Culture Education Service, said, "I hope that art activities will provide an opportunity for family members to understand each other's feelings." He added, "We will continue to actively strive to provide opportunities for children who have suffered abuse and culturally marginalized groups to experience emotional and psychological stability through art activities."
