[Asia Economy Reporter Kiho Sung] Seoul Mayor Oh Se-hoon stated on the 26th regarding the National Solidarity for the Elimination of Discrimination against Persons with Disabilities (Jeonjangyeon) declaring the resumption of protests from the new year, "This is unacceptable," and added, "We will take all legal measures, both civil and criminal."
On the same day, Mayor Oh wrote on his Facebook, "Despite the subway operation delays caused by protests lasting over a year, citizens have shown extreme patience out of consideration for socially vulnerable groups. However, as the Mayor of Seoul, I can no longer overlook the harm and inconvenience to citizens," expressing his stance.
He said, "I concluded discussions this morning with Kim Kwang-ho, Commissioner of the Seoul Metropolitan Police Agency," and emphasized, "If requested by Seoul Metro, the police will respond promptly and without delay."
Mayor Oh stated, "In addition to a firm response at the protest sites, we will take all necessary legal actions, including civil and criminal measures," and firmly declared, "The Seoul city administration's policy of 'walking together with the vulnerable' does not mean tolerating illegal acts. There will be no more leniency regarding illegal activities."

Meanwhile, Jeonjangyeon announced in a statement the previous day that only 10.6 billion KRW (0.8%) of their requested budget was reflected in next year's government budget passed by the National Assembly plenary session, and declared they would resume protests starting January 2nd next year.
