Ministry of Industry Launches National Advanced Strategic Industry Specialized Complex Competition
[Asia Economy Sejong=Reporter Dongwoo Lee] The Ministry of Trade, Industry and Energy announced on the 25th that it will begin the public contest process for the National Advanced Strategic Industry Specialized Complex.
The ministry plans to accept applications for specialized complexes from metropolitan city and provincial governors, companies, and related central administrative agencies from the 26th of this month until February 27th of next year.
The National Advanced Strategic Industry refers to businesses that produce products and services or develop related technologies in the three major industries of semiconductors, displays, and secondary batteries.
Once designated as a specialized complex, the site approval procedures can be processed more swiftly, and various tax credit benefits can be received for investments in commercialization facilities and research and development (R&D) projects.
In particular, for holders of advanced strategic technologies, the factory floor area ratio limit will be relaxed up to a maximum of 1.4 times.

The ministry plans to comprehensively evaluate strategies for building a cooperative ecosystem between demand and supply companies, plans to attract domestic and foreign companies, and investment plans of leading companies, and designate the specialized complexes in the first half of next year.
