Jungsubon Extends Intensive Disinfection Period Until Next Month 20 Due to AI Spread Concerns
[Asia Economy Reporter Hwang Seoyul] The Central Accident Response Headquarters has judged that the risk of highly pathogenic avian influenza (AI) outbreaks is high this winter and announced that the intensive disinfection period will be extended by one month until the 20th of next month.
Jung Hwang-geun, head of the Central Accident Response Headquarters (Minister of Agriculture, Food and Rural Affairs), visited the base disinfection facility in Anseong-si, Gyeonggi Province, and the quarantine countermeasure office at Anseong City Hall on the 24th to inspect the quarantine situation and instructed nationwide quarantine reinforcement measures, including extending the intensive disinfection period.
During the intensive disinfection period, the Central Accident Response Headquarters requests each farm to comply with basic quarantine rules such as disinfection. Special inspections will be conducted on farms vulnerable to quarantine, and if violations are detected, strict measures will be taken.
