Korea & Company Donates to Sarangui Yeolmae... "Total Donations Reach 13.6 Billion Won"
[Asia Economy Reporter Hyunseok Yoo] Korea & Company, a business-type holding company of Korea & Company Group, announced on the 23rd that it donated 750 million KRW in Neighborly Love funds to the Community Chest of Korea (Sarangui Yeolmae) to support vulnerable groups.
Korea & Company has been continuously supporting the Community Chest of Korea since 2003 to promote coexistence with local communities. Including the 750 million KRW donated this time, it has contributed a total of approximately 13.6 billion KRW. The donated funds will be used to assist marginalized neighbors in Seoul, Daejeon, and Chungnam regions.
Prior to the donation, on the 16th, Korea & Company received the ‘Happiness Award’ in the donation category at the 9th Sarangui Yeolmae Awards hosted by the Community Chest of Korea, recognizing its 20 years of contribution to spreading the culture of sharing and activating the donation culture in Korea.
Korea & Company Group continues to carry out sponsorship activities where help is needed in local communities. In March, it donated 200 million KRW to support recovery from wildfires and aid disaster victims in the Gangwon and Gyeongbuk regions. Since 2012, it has been supporting the mobility of people with disabilities in low-income groups in Daejeon and Jeonbuk by distributing batteries for electric mobility assist devices annually.
The group’s core affiliate, Hankook Tire, conducts social contribution projects linked to its core business characteristic of ‘mobility’ under the slogan ‘Driving Toward Happiness.’ It runs the ‘Children’s Traffic Safety Campaign’ with Sarangui Yeolmae and the Korea Life Safety Association, providing traffic safety education and improving school zone environments to prevent child traffic accidents through multifaceted support. In August, it opened a ‘Driving School’ at the Daejeon Traffic Culture Training Center in Yuseong-gu, Daejeon Metropolitan City, offering various educational content for children from marginalized groups in traffic blind spots, contributing to raising awareness of traffic safety.

Additionally, employees voluntarily participate in community-based sharing activities. This year, following ‘Our Forest Creation’ and ‘Voice Donation,’ they have been conducting mural painting volunteer activities involving employees’ families, continuously promoting various social contribution programs and fostering a healthy corporate culture that practices the values of sharing and coexistence.
