Seoul Metro "Line 3 Full Section Service Resumed... Focus on Recovery Operations"
[Asia Economy Reporter Kiho Sung] Seoul Metro announced that the smoke incident that occurred between Muakjae Station and Dongnimmun Station on Line 3 at 6:24 AM on the 23rd has been resolved, and full operation of Line 3 resumed from 8:12 AM.
At 6:24 AM, smoke was detected on the tracks between Muakjae and Dongnimmun Stations, causing suspension of train services in both directions between Yaksu Station and Gupabal Station. The company immediately formed an on-site accident response headquarters and actively cooperated with the fire department to handle the incident. Trains operated on other sections by turning back at Gupabal and Yaksu Stations.
The smoke was cleared by 7:36 AM, and after completing inspections, the company resumed full operation of Line 3 from 8:12 AM. The peak dispatch time for Line 3 was extended until 10:00 AM.
