Fire Authorities Suspect 'High-Voltage Line Ignition' as Cause of Fire
[Asia Economy Reporter Hwang Seoyul] At 6:24 AM on the 23rd, smoke occurred between Muakjae Station and Dongnimmun Station on Seoul Subway Line 3, causing train operations to be suspended.
Currently, train operations on both the up and down lines are halted between Yaksu Station and Gupabal Station on Line 3.
The Seoul Seodaemun Fire Department received a report of a "fire at Muakjae Station on Line 3" and urgently dispatched 17 fire trucks and 69 personnel. The fire authorities estimate the cause of the fire to be ignition from a high-voltage line. The status of casualties is still being confirmed.
