View original image[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Hwang Du-yeol] Korea Hydro & Nuclear Power's Saeul Nuclear Power Headquarters held the "Initial Power Pressurization Ceremony" on the 22nd to supply power for the first time for the commissioning of equipment installed at Saeul Unit 4 at the construction site of Saeul Units 3 and 4.
About 100 people, including Saeul Nuclear Power Headquarters and construction officials, attended the event.
Saeul Unit 4 is a 1.4 million kW-class third-generation pressurized water reactor (APR1400) nuclear power plant developed purely with domestic technology. The structural work is currently in the final stages, and mechanical and electrical work is underway.
Saeul Nuclear Power Headquarters will supply power for commissioning and begin full-scale commissioning of the equipment installed at the construction site.
Nam Yo-sik, head of KHNP's Construction Business Headquarters, who attended the event, said, "Saeul Units 3 and 4 are the culmination of our nuclear power technology developed purely with domestic technology and are proud nuclear power plants with the world's highest safety standards. We will do our best to contribute to energy security and the economy through safe-first nuclear power plant construction and operation and to lead nuclear power exports."

As of the end of November, the progress rate of Saeul Units 3 and 4 was 83.74%. After step-by-step testing, regulatory agency operation approval, and fuel loading, Saeul Unit 3 is scheduled to be completed in October 2024, and Saeul Unit 4 in October 2025.
