In 2023, the center plans to further expand the visiting disability awareness classes to support not only schools without special classes but also those with special classes.
Customized career and vocational experience education programs, such as university life experience support, will also be solidly supported. The center will produce promotional brochures to further strengthen the promotion of projects such as renting career and vocational experience facilities.
The Ulsan Metropolitan Office of Education Special Education Support Center played a central role in local special education this year, carrying out various projects including diagnostic evaluation and itinerant education for high school special education students, special education training, special education-related services, and career and vocational education support.
In 2022, the National Disabled Students Career Dream Festival was held in Ulsan, where special education students and related personnel from across the country visited Ulsan to exchange information. Ulsan participated in 12 events and won awards in 6 of them.
To facilitate smooth treatment support services, a business agreement was signed with NongHyup Bank.
Through the agreement, an electronic card payment system for treatment and rehabilitation service support was introduced, expanding support to 75 people, and a total of 154 students received treatment and rehabilitation service fees of 160,000 KRW per month.
To support the psychological adaptation of health-impaired students who have difficulty returning to school after hospital treatment, counseling was provided 50 times for 6 students.
Additionally, to foster a culture of disability empathy, five visiting disability awareness class programs were operated, supporting a total of 78 schools, among other various supports.
