Suncheon-si Selects 39 Suppliers for Hometown Love Donation Program
Selection of Local Specialty Product Suppliers Including Geocha Beolbae Experience and Nagan Traditional Liquor
[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters, Reporter Heo Seonsik] Suncheon City, Jeollanam-do (Mayor Noh Gwan-gyu) announced on the 21st that it held a hometown love donation gift selection committee and selected 39 gift suppliers.
The gift selection committee finalized 39 suppliers out of 40 applicants by considering regional representativeness, product excellence, and quality safety.
The selection of various items targeting all age groups, from board games utilizing Suncheon City's tourism resources to the traditional Nakan Makgeolli, is expected to contribute to the activation of the Suncheon City hometown love donation system.
The city made special efforts, including researching attractive gifts and suppliers and conducting surveys to understand donors' preferences.
The selected gift suppliers will sign agreements on the 27th and hold an orientation session to carry out necessary procedures in preparation for the implementation of the donation system, such as training for registering gifts in the hometown love e-um system.
A Suncheon City official said, "Suncheon City will continuously discuss with suppliers about promotion activation and operation methods to do its best in developing competitive gifts," adding, "We hope that providing attractive gifts in agricultural and livestock products, processed goods, crafts, and tourism and service sectors will greatly help spread the donation culture and revitalize the local economy."
Meanwhile, the hometown love donation system, which will be implemented from January 1 next year, allows individuals to donate to local governments other than their address within a limit of 5 million KRW per person.
Donors can receive gifts worth up to 30% of the donation amount, with a full tax credit for donations up to 100,000 KRW and a 16.5% tax credit for the amount exceeding 100,000 KRW.
