On this day, recovery medals were presented to a total of 32 children, including those who had undergone hematopoietic stem cell transplantation more than a year ago and those who completed treatment this year.
Additionally, scholarships were awarded by the Angel Donor Association and the Happy Tree organization, which connects with Love. An award ceremony and presentation of commemorative gifts were also held for children who won the “Hope Made Through Dreams” writing contest.
Jeon Mo (17), who was declared completely cured of leukemia after four years of battling the disease, said, “I am very happy to have received the complete recovery diagnosis, but at the same time, I feel anxious about the possibility of relapse and having to undergo treatment again. However, since my parents and younger sibling all support and love me, I want to overcome this as well and enjoy a healthy and fun school life.”
Professor Baek Hee-jo stated, “Both the children who underwent long treatments and their parents have endured a lot of emotional hardship, and especially the parents who anxiously awaited the end of treatment have gone through the most. I hope they can now enjoy their daily lives with peace of mind and spend happy days with their children.”
