The Seven Eleven "Online Children's Environmental Art Contest" is an event carried on from Ministop's representative ESG activity "Environmental Love Dream Tree Drawing Festival," which was integrated in April. Since its inception by Ministop in 1993, this year marks the 30th edition, making it the longest-standing eco-friendly social contribution activity in the convenience store industry.
Approximately 2,000 works were submitted nationwide for this contest. Among them, the work titled "Saving the Earth Jenga" by Jeong Sihoon, a 5th-grade student at Daegu Dalseo Elementary School, won the grand prize.
On the 21st, Choi Kyungho, CEO of Seven Eleven, personally visited Daegu Dalseo Elementary School to present Jeong Sihoon with the Minister of Environment Award and a prize of 1 million KRW, delivering words of encouragement. To commemorate Jeong Sihoon's grand prize win, snacks composed of Seven Eleven's private brand (PB) products were given to all students at Daegu Dalseo Elementary School.
Additionally, Seven Eleven selected two winners for the Excellence Award and five winners for the Merit Award. These awarded children will receive the Korea Seven CEO Award and separate prize money.
The total of eight winning works will be exhibited online in the Children's Art Contest gallery on the Seven Eleven website and introduced on Seven Eleven's social media (SNS) channels. The original artworks will be displayed at the Korea Seven headquarters building to foster environmental awareness among Seven Eleven employees. Seven Eleven plans to increase customer awareness and attention to the environment by featuring images of the winning works on new coin collection boxes for the ongoing eco-friendly coin donation campaign.
